A family recipe turned into a family enterprise when Shawn McCoy and his mother, Mickey, began to commercially produce Mickey’s Mustard, at the urging of friends who were already hooked on the tasty condiment. Oh, Mickey and Shawn’s father, Mike, were BOTH Marines, this stuff HAS to be good!
Mickey first cooked up a batch of her now famous mustard in 1980, improving on a recipe that she had on hand and adding her own “secret” ingredient – banana peppers that she grew on the McCoy farm near Canton, Ohio. Soon the whole family was pitching in to help can mustard at harvest time.

In 2006 Mickey and Shawn took the company from just making a couple of cases of mustard for friends to a full commercial business. By doing so, they started to share this delicious product with folks around Texas and Ohio. Today, Shawn now handles and operates Mickey’s Mustard. A new HOT mustard made with Scorpion peppers added to the original mustard is being rolled out Summer of 2020. We can now ship up to 4 jars anywhere in the United States. Shawn consistently delivers all over Texas, and on trips back to Ohio, fills orders for friends and family that still enjoy Mickey’s Mustard that she first started making in 1980.
